Whether anal fissures cause itching mainly depends on the severity of the condition and individual patient differences. Some patients with anal fissures may experience itching around the anus, as blood and secretions from the fissure irritate the perianal skin, causing local inflammation and itching.

Anal fissure patients are advised to increase fiber intake in their diet, avoid spicy, greasy, and irritating foods, drink more water, maintain regular bowel movements, and prevent constipation. It is also recommended to bathe regularly, change underwear frequently, and wash the anal area with warm water after each bowel movement to reduce irritation from secretions. If anal fissure patients develop itching symptoms, appropriate medications may be used under a doctor's guidance.
