
What foods are good to eat for stomach acid?
Recently, I've been feeling nauseous after eating greasy or spicy foods, and I often sense a sour taste in my mouth. I suspect this might be due to excessive stomach acid. I would like to ask the doctor, if it indeed is excessive stomach acid, what foods or remedies can effectively alleviate the symptoms?

The following are some foods suitable for patients with excessive stomach acid:
1. Alkaline foods: Fruits such as bananas, strawberries, pears, apples, and cherries, as well as vegetables like carrots, eggplants, lettuce, celery, tofu, and mushrooms. These foods can neutralize stomach acid and alleviate gastric discomfort.
2. Whole grains: Fiber-rich foods such as whole wheat bread, oats, and brown rice can help stabilize the stomach environment and reduce stomach acid production.
3. Vegetables: Most vegetables are low in fat and rich in fiber, which is beneficial for the stomach. Green leafy vegetables, such as spinach, cabbage, and broccoli, are particularly helpful as they contain abundant magnesium, which aids in neutralizing stomach acid.
4. Fruits: Certain fruits like bananas, apples, cantaloupe, and watermelon have higher pH values and help neutralize stomach acid. Avoid citrus fruits and tomatoes, as they may increase stomach acid secretion.
5. Dairy products: Low-fat or skim milk and yogurt can provide temporary relief from symptoms of excess stomach acid. However, long-term, high-volume consumption is not generally recommended, as some individuals may be lactose intolerant.
