Disease description:

I had hyaluronic acid injections a while ago, but I noticed a hard lump at the injection site. I'm a bit worried, but I don't know how to handle it myself, and I'm unsure whether I can massage it. Can hyaluronic acid lumps be massaged away?

Lumps appearing after hyaluronic acid injection are a relatively common phenomenon, which may be due to the body not having fully absorbed the hyaluronic acid, or local hematomas and tissue reactions caused by the injection. It is generally not recommended to attempt to massage the lumps away on your own.

If a lump appears at the injection site, it is not advisable to try to massage it out by yourself. Incorrect techniques may cause the filler to shift further, potentially leading to serious complications such as vascular embolism. Attempting to massage the lump may also result in uneven skin texture, affecting aesthetics. Additionally, if the lump is caused by inflammation, massaging may worsen the spread of infection and delay recovery. If the lump is mild, applying heat may help promote local blood circulation, accelerate drug absorption and metabolism, and aid in resolving the lump. However, when applying heat, avoid direct contact with the injection puncture site to prevent wound infection.

If you notice a lump, it is recommended to visit a正规 hospital and consult a qualified physician. Avoid self-treatment to prevent unnecessary harm.
