Disease description:

I got hyaluronic acid injections a couple of days ago, and now there's a persistent lump that hasn't gone away. What should I do about a non-resolving hyaluronic acid lump?

Dr. Han Xuefeng
If hyaluronic acid lumps do not dissipate, the following measures can be taken: 1. Heat application and massage: Applying heat improves local blood circulation and accelerates the resolution of lumps; massage may also help alleviate them. 2. Injection of dissolving enzymes: If the lump is caused by unabsorbed hyaluronic acid, enzyme injections (such as hyaluronidase) can be administered under medical supervision to dissolve the residual material. 3. Medication: If the lump results from infection, anti-infective treatments such as erythromycin ointment or amoxicillin capsules may be used. 4. Physical therapy: If the lump persists, treatments such as laser therapy or ultrashort wave diathermy may be considered. The appropriate treatment should be selected based on medical advice and the underlying cause of the lump.
