Dr. Bai Hongmei

Food poisoning symptoms include nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea, fever and chills, dehydration symptoms, muscle pain, and joint stiffness.

1. Nausea and Vomiting: After food poisoning, patients often feel nauseous and may experience vomiting.

2. Abdominal Pain and Diarrhea: Abdominal discomfort, pain, or cramping are common symptoms, often accompanied by diarrhea. The diarrhea may be watery or mucus-like and, in severe cases, may contain blood.

3. Fever and Chills: Some types of food poisoning can trigger immune responses leading to fever and chills. Elevated body temperature is a reaction to infection or inflammation.

4. Dehydration Symptoms: Due to frequent vomiting and diarrhea, patients may develop dehydration. Symptoms include dry mouth, dry tongue, reduced skin elasticity, decreased urine output, and sunken eyes.

5. Muscle Pain and Joint Stiffness: Some patients with food poisoning may experience muscle pain and joint stiffness. This occurs because toxins affect the normal functioning of muscles and joints.

If symptoms of food poisoning occur, consumption of any suspected food should be stopped immediately, and medical attention should be sought promptly.
