How to eliminate excessive dampness in the body
Recently, I visited a TCM practitioner who mentioned that I have excessive dampness in my body. May I ask, how can excessive dampness in the body be removed?

Excessive dampness in the body is a common diagnosis in traditional Chinese medicine, typically manifested as symptoms such as bodily heaviness, fatigue, and edema. To effectively eliminate dampness from the body, the following comprehensive approaches may be adopted:
1. Dietary regulation: Avoid raw, cold, greasy, spicy, and other irritating foods, as these can easily increase dampness in the body. Consume more ingredients that help strengthen the spleen and remove dampness, such as red adzuki beans, coix seed, lotus seeds, Chinese yam, and poria, which aid in expelling dampness.
2. Moderate exercise: Appropriate physical activity can accelerate blood circulation and metabolism, promoting perspiration and thus helping to expel dampness from the body. Engage in aerobic exercises such as jogging or swimming, but be careful not to overexert, as excessive intensity may have counterproductive effects.
3. TCM regulation: Under a doctor's guidance, certain herbs may be appropriately used for regulation, such as poria,泽泻 (Alisma orientale), and苍术 (Atractylodes lancea), which have functions of strengthening the spleen and eliminating dampness. Additionally, traditional TCM therapies such as acupuncture, cupping, and moxibustion can also effectively improve excessive dampness in the body.
