What are the symptoms of gynecological adnexitis?
Recently, I came across discussions online about gynecological adnexitis. I would like to ask, what are the symptoms of gynecological adnexitis?
Adnexitis, mainly refers to inflammation of the fallopian tubes, ovaries, surrounding connective tissues, and the pelvic peritoneum in females. Its symptoms may include:
1. Fever: During the onset of adnexitis, females often experience high fever, with body temperature reaching 39–40°C, sometimes accompanied by chills. Fluctuations in body temperature may indicate the spread of inflammation or the development of a suppurative focus.
2. Lower abdominal pain: This is the most common symptom of adnexitis, typically presenting as persistent dull or aching pain, usually located on one or both sides of the lower abdomen.
3. Menstrual disorders: These may manifest as frequent menstruation or heavy menstrual bleeding, likely resulting from ovarian dysfunction or pelvic congestion.
4. Nausea and vomiting: Severe adnexitis may cause gastrointestinal symptoms.
5. Dysmenorrhea: Congestive dysmenorrhea caused by pelvic congestion usually begins about a week before menstruation, with symptoms becoming more pronounced as the menstrual period approaches.
6. Frequent and urgent urination: These symptoms may occur when the bladder is affected by inflammation.
7. Low back pain: Long-term inflammatory stimulation may lead to discomfort in the lumbar region.
