How long does it take to recover from rheumatism treatment?
Recently, my grandfather has been undergoing treatment for rheumatism. I would like to ask the doctor, how long does it take to recover from rheumatism treatment?

Rheumatic diseases are a category of conditions that include various types such as rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis, among others. Each type has different treatment goals and methods. The duration of treatment is influenced by multiple factors, including the severity of the condition, treatment approaches, and the patient's individual circumstances.
Mild rheumatic diseases may be relieved or controlled within several months, while severe cases may require continuous treatment for several years or even longer. Treatment methods mainly include medication, physical therapy, lifestyle adjustments, and usually must be conducted under the guidance of a specialist. For mild rheumatic diseases, such as early-stage rheumatoid arthritis, appropriate drug treatment—such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), corticosteroids, and disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs)—can effectively control symptoms, reduce pain and inflammation within weeks to months. However, this does not mean the disease has been cured; long-term maintenance therapy is necessary to prevent recurrence or progression.
Rheumatic disease treatment is a long-term process that requires patients to remain patient and actively cooperate with their physician's treatment plan.
