Swelling after eyebrow tattooing is a relatively common phenomenon, mainly due to the micro-injuries caused to the skin during the procedure and the resulting localized inflammatory response. To address post-tattoo swelling, measures such as maintaining cleanliness, avoiding irritating foods, preventing direct sun exposure, applying cold compresses, and using topical ointments can be effective.

Gently clean the eyebrow area using a mild cleanser, and avoid products containing irritating chemical ingredients. After cleaning, pat the area dry gently instead of rubbing vigorously, which may cause further irritation. After eyebrow tattooing, avoid consuming spicy foods, alcohol, and other irritants, as these may exacerbate local inflammation and prolong the healing process. For several days after the procedure, avoid direct sun exposure, as UV rays may interfere with healing and cause uneven pigmentation. When going outdoors, wear a wide-brimmed hat or apply sunscreen for protection. Within the first 24 hours after tattooing, apply a cold pack or cold towel to the swollen area for 15–20 minutes at a time, with intervals of 2–3 hours. This helps constrict blood vessels and reduce exudation, thereby alleviating swelling. Under a physician's guidance, topical ointments with anti-inflammatory and swelling-reducing properties, such as erythromycin ointment, may be applied to the swollen area to promote recovery.

Post-tattoo care requires careful attention and patience. By following proper aftercare procedures, swelling typically subsides naturally within about a week. If swelling persists, worsens, or is accompanied by other symptoms such as pain, redness, heat, or fever, seek prompt medical evaluation and treatment.
