The symptoms of poor liver function in women are quite varied, mainly manifesting as abnormal complexion, menstrual irregularities, and changes in mental status. In terms of complexion, when the liver's detoxification function is affected, toxins can accumulate in the body, often leading to a yellowish, dull, and lusterless complexion. Some individuals may also experience worsening dark circles under the eyes.

The liver is closely related to the menstrual cycle. Insufficient liver blood or liver qi stagnation may lead to menstrual disorders, such as reduced menstrual flow, irregular cycles, or even amenorrhea. Regarding mental status, the liver governs the smooth flow of qi; if liver function is impaired, this regulatory function may be disrupted, making women prone to low mood, anxiety, irritability, and depression.

In daily work and life, individuals may frequently feel fatigued and weak, lack energy, have difficulty concentrating, and experience systemic symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, insomnia, and vivid dreams. These symptoms may be related to abnormal liver function and impaired estrogen inactivation. Additionally, poor liver health may cause nails to become brittle and prone to breaking, often with vertical ridges appearing.

If women notice frequent occurrences of these symptoms, they should seek timely medical evaluation to determine the health status of their liver.
