Is laser mole removal good?
I am 27 years old and would like to remove a mole on my face. I want to know whether laser mole removal is a good option.

In general, laser mole removal is considered a preferable method for eliminating moles. This technique utilizes a high-energy laser beam that precisely targets the mole cells on the skin surface. The thermal effect of the laser destroys the mole cells, causing them to gradually fall off, thereby achieving the effect of mole removal.
Laser treatment allows precise control of the energy level and penetration depth, targeting only the mole cells while minimizing damage to the surrounding healthy skin. Compared to traditional surgical excision, laser mole removal involves less bleeding, lower risk of infection, and a shorter recovery period. After laser treatment, the treated area typically does not leave noticeable scars, making it especially suitable for areas such as the face where cosmetic outcomes are important.
However, if the laser penetration is insufficient, the mole removal may be incomplete, increasing the likelihood of recurrence. Recurrent moles may exhibit increased activity and potentially a higher risk of malignancy. Temporary pigmentation may occur after treatment, and sun protection and moisturizing are necessary. Excessive laser energy or improper operation may cause skin burns, and inadequate post-treatment care may lead to infection.
It is recommended that patients considering laser mole removal fully understand the relevant information and make their decision under the guidance of a physician. After treatment, proper wound care is essential, including keeping the treated area clean and dry, avoiding contact with water to prevent infection. A balanced diet is also important—avoiding spicy and irritating foods while consuming more foods rich in vitamin C and vitamin E.
