In general, the presence of brown discharge before menstruation does not necessarily indicate pregnancy.

Brown discharge before menstruation can be caused by various factors. Some women may experience light bleeding during ovulation, known as ovulatory bleeding. This type of bleeding is usually minimal and may appear pink or brown. During the menstrual cycle, the endometrium regularly thickens in preparation for embryo implantation. If implantation does not occur, this portion of the endometrium sheds and is expelled from the body, sometimes occurring before the onset of regular menstruation and appearing as brown discharge.

However, brown discharge may also be related to pregnancy. In early pregnancy, slight bleeding may occur during embryo implantation, presenting as brown discharge. Additionally, abnormal conditions such as threatened miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy can also cause similar symptoms. However, this symptom alone cannot accurately determine pregnancy; a comprehensive assessment combining other clinical signs and diagnostic tests is necessary.

In daily life, women are advised to undergo regular gynecological examinations and maintain good personal hygiene habits to help safeguard their health.
