Disease description:

I am 24 years old. I recently had a photorejuvenation treatment. I heard that scabbing usually occurs afterward, but I don't seem to have any scabs. I would like to know whether it's normal for photorejuvenation not to result in scabbing.

In general, it is normal for photorejuvenation not to cause scabbing. Photorejuvenation is a cosmetic technique that uses intense pulsed light to address various skin concerns. It typically does not damage the outer layer of the skin and therefore does not necessarily lead to scabbing. Scabbing is a self-repair process that occurs after the skin sustains a certain degree of injury, whereas the goal of photorejuvenation is to improve skin texture and appearance with minimal damage to the skin's surface.

Each individual's skin condition and treatment settings are different. Some people may experience mild scabbing after treatment, which is usually caused by higher energy settings or increased individual skin sensitivity. If this occurs, there is generally no need to be overly concerned. As long as post-treatment care instructions provided by the physician are followed properly, the scabs will naturally shed and the skin will gradually recover.

If the skin develops redness, swelling, pain, itching, or other discomfort after treatment, or if the treatment results are not noticeable, it may be necessary to consult a doctor promptly for professional evaluation and advice.
