In general, photorejuvenation can improve the appearance of acne scars to some extent, but it cannot completely remove them. Photorejuvenation is an advanced high-tech cosmetic procedure that utilizes broad-spectrum colored light to illuminate the skin. Through photothermal and photochemical effects, it stimulates collagen production in the skin, thereby improving skin texture and tone. For acne scars, photorejuvenation can promote collagen regeneration, making the scars shallower and improving their overall appearance.

Acne scars form due to collagen loss and structural changes in the skin following tissue damage, and their repair may involve remodeling of multiple layers of the skin. Therefore, photorejuvenation may be effective for superficial acne scars, but its effectiveness on deeper scars may be limited. In such cases, combining other treatments—such as microneedling, fractional laser therapy, or dermal fillers—may be necessary to achieve better results.

It is recommended that patients fully understand the advantages and disadvantages of each treatment method and undergo treatment under the guidance of a qualified physician. Additionally, maintaining healthy lifestyle habits and proper skincare routines can also help improve and prevent acne scars.
