Can people with diabetes drink sugar-free soda water?
I have diabetes, and I really want to drink a bottle of sugar-free soda right now. May I ask, is it okay for people with diabetes to drink sugar-free soda?

Diabetic patients can moderately consume sugar-free soda water.
Sugar-free soda water is weakly alkaline and helps alkalinize urine, reduce uric acid levels, regulate the acid-base balance in diabetic patients, and to some extent, dilute stomach acid and protect the gastric mucosa. For diabetic patients with elevated blood uric acid levels, sugar-free soda water can alkalinize urine and help lower blood uric acid levels.
As sugar-free soda water contains no sugar, moderate consumption will not cause an increase in blood glucose levels, thus helping to stabilize the condition of diabetic patients. However, although sugar-free soda water offers benefits to diabetic patients, it should not be used as the primary source of daily water intake, and nutritional balance should be maintained. Additionally, it is advisable to purchase products from reputable sources and regularly monitor blood glucose levels. While the carbonic acid content in soda water generally does not directly affect blood glucose, excessive consumption may lead to bloating and discomfort.
Moderate consumption of sugar-free soda water is safe for diabetic patients, but attention should be paid to controlling the amount consumed and selecting products from reputable sources.
