Can watermelon rind treat oral ulcers?
I am 22 years old and have recently developed a canker sore. I would like to know whether watermelon rind can treat canker sores.

Under normal circumstances, watermelon rind has certain auxiliary therapeutic effects on oral ulcers, but it generally cannot completely cure them.
Watermelon rind contains nutrients such as vitamin C and B-complex vitamins. These components have antioxidant properties, can promote collagen synthesis, and enhance the repair and regeneration capacity of oral mucosal cells, thereby relieving pain and discomfort caused by oral ulcers. In addition, watermelon rind also has heat-clearing and detoxifying effects, which can help reduce the inflammatory response of oral ulcers.
However, for severe oral ulcers—such as those with large ulcer areas, accompanied by intense pain or long duration—watermelon rind may not provide effective treatment. In such cases, timely medical consultation is recommended, and medications such as oral ulcer powder, watermelon frost lozenges, or cetidine lozenges should be used according to medical advice.
When using watermelon rind as an adjunctive treatment for oral ulcers, you can cut the rind into small pieces, chew them in your mouth, and let the juice remain in the mouth for a period of time before spitting it out. Alternatively, the rind can be charred, ground into powder, and held in the mouth, or boiled together with mung beans to make a soup for consumption. Although watermelon rind has certain auxiliary therapeutic effects on oral ulcers, it cannot replace standard medical treatments. While using watermelon rind, it is also important to maintain oral hygiene and avoid irritating foods to promote ulcer healing.
