Dr. Zhou Xiaofeng

In cases of sore throat and cough in children, anti-inflammatory medications may be used under a doctor's guidance to alleviate symptoms. Commonly used medications include amoxicillin clavulanate potassium granules and cefixime granules. However, it is recommended that cefixime granules be given only to children above six months of age. Additionally, antihistamine medications may be used in combination to dilate capillaries and relax smooth muscle contractions, thereby reducing mucosal edema. Commonly used antihistamines include cetirizine and loratadine.
