Diarrhea and fever in children may be caused by either bacterial infection or viral infection. It is recommended to undergo a routine stool test at the hospital to determine whether the infection is viral or bacterial. If the infection is bacterial, oral antibiotic medications such as Cefixime granules and probiotics can be used for treatment; however, please note that Cefixime granules should only be administered to infants older than 6 months. If the infection is viral, antiviral medications such as Ribavirin or Acyclovir may be taken orally for treatment.
