How to distinguish between closed comedones and pimples
Yesterday, I went out with a friend to eat hot pot, and when I came back, I noticed red, raised bumps appearing on my face. They look like closed comedones, but also resemble pimples. I would like to know how to differentiate between closed comedones and pimples?

Comedones and closed comedones can generally be distinguished by their different growth locations. Comedones typically occur in adolescents during the developmental stage and commonly appear on the face, chest, or back, whereas closed comedones mainly develop on areas such as the forehead, bridge of the nose, cheeks, and lips. Both acne and closed comedones are caused by internal endocrine disorders and excessive sebaceous gland secretion, which lead to folliculitis. Patients can be treated with benzoyl peroxide or selenium sulfide lotion.
