If nasal congestion in children is caused by an upper respiratory tract infection and there is a bacterial infection present, medications such as cefuroxime axetil tablets or levofloxacin capsules may be taken under a doctor's guidance. However, please note that levofloxacin capsules are recommended for use in children aged 18 years and older.
Additionally, physiological seawater nasal spray may be used according to medical advice. If the congestion is caused by rhinitis, fluticasone propionate nasal spray or hydroxymethylzoline hydrochloride nasal drops may be used as directed by a physician. However, please note that hydroxymethylzoline hydrochloride nasal drops are recommended for use in children aged 2 years and older.
