I've had chronic rhinitis for four or five years. My nose is congested all day, and I constantly sneeze and have a runny nose. I've tried many different methods, but none have brought improvement. Can chronic rhinitis actually be cured?

In general, chronic rhinitis can be cured through standardized treatment and daily care, but some patients may find it difficult to achieve complete recovery and are prone to recurrence.

Patients should pay attention to nasal hygiene, promptly remove nasal secretions, and avoid contact with allergens such as pollen and dust mites. At the same time, they should maintain a bland diet and avoid consuming spicy or irritating foods. Additionally, under a doctor's guidance, patients may use medications such as oxymetazoline hydrochloride spray, azelastine hydrochloride tablets, and furamidine nasal drops to relieve symptoms.

However, the occurrence of chronic rhinitis is associated with multiple factors, such as nasal structural abnormalities, repeated upper respiratory tract infections, and allergic constitution. These factors are often difficult to completely eliminate and may lead to recurrence. Even after symptoms have improved, failure to take precautions—such as re-exposure to allergens, bacterial or viral infections, or long-term exposure to air-polluted environments—can cause rhinitis to recur.

In daily life, it is recommended to maintain good sleep habits and reduce mental stress, which can help improve symptoms of chronic rhinitis.
