In general, seawater spray cannot cure rhinitis, but it can provide certain auxiliary therapeutic benefits.

Seawater spray can flush out dust, dirt, secretions, and allergens from the nasal cavity, keeping it clean and reducing the chance of nasal infections. It can moisturize the nasal mucosa, prevent nasal dryness, and avoid discomfort and bleeding caused by dryness. Seawater spray has certain anti-inflammatory properties and can reduce inflammation of the nasal mucosa, alleviating symptoms such as nasal itching and sneezing. Additionally, it can improve nasal ventilation and relieve breathing difficulties caused by nasal congestion.

However, rhinitis has multiple causes, including viral infections, bacterial infections, allergen irritation, and genetic factors. Although seawater spray can clean the nasal cavity and reduce swelling and congestion, it cannot address all the underlying causes of rhinitis and therefore cannot provide a complete cure. For patients with rhinitis, seawater spray is usually only one of several adjunctive treatment options. Patients should also follow their doctor's advice to use other medications or treatments, such as nasal corticosteroids, antihistamines, or immunotherapy.

It is important to use seawater spray in moderation, as excessive use may lead to over-drying or irritation of the nasal mucosa, causing discomfort. Therefore, patients should use it according to the instructions provided or as advised by a physician.
