Dr. Sheng Mei
During the “small confinement” period (postpartum recovery), women may consume protein-rich foods such as eggs, milk, pork ribs, chicken, fish, and shrimp to help strengthen their constitution. They should also drink plenty of soups—such as fish soup, chicken soup, and vegetable soup—which are easily digestible and highly nutritious. Adequate rest is essential during recovery; strenuous activity should be avoided, and bed rest for approximately one week is recommended to support optimal physical recuperation.
