Up to what degree of refractive error is laser eye surgery not recommended?
Disease description:
I am a myopic patient with relatively high myopia and am considering undergoing laser eye surgery to correct my vision. I would like to ask the doctor: what degree of myopia is considered unsuitable for laser eye surgery?
Hello, there are two main types of myopia correction surgeries currently available: excimer laser refractive surgery and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation surgery. Excimer laser refractive surgery requires patients to be between 18 and 45 years old, with myopia no greater than -15.00 D, hyperopia no greater than +5.00 D, and astigmatism no greater than 6.00 D, and their refractive error must have remained stable for at least the past two years. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you a happy and healthy life!
