Complications Following Rhinoplasty with Hyaluronic Acid Injection
Disease description:
I received hyaluronic acid injections for nasal augmentation a few days ago, but I’ve been experiencing mild pain in my nose recently. It’s already been three days, and my nose remains noticeably swollen. Could you please tell me what potential side effects or complications may occur following hyaluronic acid nasal augmentation?
Hello, the most common rhinoplasty procedures are hyaluronic acid (HA) injection and autologous fat grafting. Hyaluronic acid is readily available and non-immunogenic—making it a favorable option for nasal augmentation. Postoperatively, the tactile sensation is natural, and surgical traces are typically undetectable. Complications following HA injection rhinoplasty are generally related to the surgeon’s technical skill. Mild swelling is a normal post-injection response; however, nasal deviation, facial expression stiffness, or HA extrusion require corrective surgery. I hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you good health!
