What Are the Early Symptoms of Psoriasis?
Disease description:
Recently, some red patches have appeared on my skin. After undergoing an examination, my doctor diagnosed me with psoriasis. Could you please tell me what the early symptoms of psoriasis are?
Early symptoms of psoriasis typically include dry skin, erythema (redness and swelling), and pruritus (itching). Over time, these lesions gradually enlarge and may coalesce into larger plaques; some may develop characteristic silvery-white, scaly scales. Psoriasis is a chronic condition prone to recurrence, and its visible manifestations can impose significant psychological burden related to body image. Under a physician’s guidance, topical application of tetracycline ointment (e.g., aureomycin ointment) may be used for treatment.
