Can pregnancy occur with coitus interruptus (withdrawal method)?

Disease description:

My girlfriend and I have been living together for some time. I’m not accustomed to using condoms for contraception, so I’ve relied on withdrawal (coitus interruptus) for the past few instances. However, I’m extremely worried about the possibility of pregnancy. Could you please tell me: Can pregnancy occur with withdrawal? How effective is it as a contraceptive method?

Hello, ejaculation is a normal physiological phenomenon that occurs in men during sexual intercourse. It primarily results from sustained stimulation of the genital area during intercourse, which triggers ejaculation. If ejaculation occurs outside the vagina (i.e., withdrawal method), pregnancy is generally unlikely; however, pre-ejaculate fluid—released before full ejaculation—may contain sperm and thus carries a risk of pregnancy. Therefore, using emergency or regular contraception (e.g., oral contraceptive pills) is advisable. I hope this information is helpful. Wishing you good health!
