What Causes Numbness in the Feet?
Disease description:
Recently, I have been experiencing frequent numbness in my feet. What could be causing this numbness?
Numbness in the feet may result from prolonged sitting. When the legs remain motionless for extended periods, local blood circulation becomes impaired, leading to foot numbness—especially during walking, when pressure is applied to the feet. Numbness may occur within approximately 20 minutes. If prolonged sitting is ruled out as the cause, lumbar spine disorders should be considered. Prolonged poor posture while sitting or excessive physical labor may trigger such conditions, resulting in foot numbness.
