Hello, pain in the thigh differs from pain in the calf. From a medical perspective, leg pain must be evaluated to determine whether it originates locally or is referred (radiating) pain from another site. If the pain is local, the primary considerations include pathologies involving the musculoskeletal system—such as bone, muscle, fascia—as well as skin and subcutaneous structures. If the pain is referred or radiating, the most common source is the lumbar spine; however, certain hip or knee joint disorders may also cause referred pain and discomfort in the leg. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you a happy and healthy life!
