If the skin is only slightly broken and your household cat is healthy, immediate vaccination or injection is typically not required.

However, to ensure safety, it is recommended to first wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water, followed by disinfection with iodophor. After cleaning, monitor the wound closely; if signs of infection—such as redness, swelling, increased pain, or other symptoms—develop, seek medical attention promptly.

If your cat has not received rabies vaccination or frequently goes outdoors (thus increasing the risk of contact with other animals), consult a physician at a hospital as soon as possible to determine whether rabies vaccination is warranted based on the specific circumstances.
