What Causes Difficulty Concentrating?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve been experiencing difficulty concentrating and feeling drowsy or mentally foggy throughout the day. What causes difficulty concentrating?
Persistent difficulty concentrating is very likely caused by neurasthenia and thus warrants sufficient attention. The activity of the human central nervous system plays a dominant role in all bodily functions. Neurons in the cerebral cortex possess a relatively high tolerance, and under normal circumstances, neurasthenia or neuronal exhaustion rarely occurs. Although mental fatigue may develop after intense intellectual work, it typically resolves quickly with brief rest or sleep. However, if neural activity under conditions of severe tension exceeds the tolerance threshold, neurasthenia may result.
