Can glucosamine hydrochloride capsules irritate the stomach?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve been experiencing joint pain and have taken some glucosamine hydrochloride capsules. I’d like to consult whether glucosamine hydrochloride capsules can irritate or harm the stomach.
Glucosamine Hydrochloride Capsules are used to treat degeneration of articular cartilage. Osteoarthritis commonly affects middle-aged and elderly individuals over 45 years old; contributing factors include joint overuse, rheumatism, and chronic injury. Early pathological changes involve necrosis and erosion of fibrocartilage, followed by cystic degeneration, ultimately progressing to osteophyte formation (bone spur growth). This leads to joint pain, swelling, and functional impairment. Glucosamine Hydrochloride Capsules can slow disease progression and, as a traditional Chinese medicine preparation, are non-irritating to the stomach.
