What should I do if I have hiccups accompanied by chronic gastritis?
Disease description:
I was diagnosed with chronic gastritis last year, and I’ve been experiencing persistent belching for the past couple of days. What should I do about belching associated with chronic gastritis?
Chronic gastritis may cause symptoms such as gastric discomfort, nausea, vomiting, acid reflux, and belching. Patients should consume easily digestible foods, chew food thoroughly and eat slowly, and avoid overeating or binge eating. Smoking and alcohol consumption must be discontinued. Barbecued foods, moldy foods, spicy-hot pot, and pungent ingredients such as scallions, ginger, and garlic should also be avoided. Treatment may include antibiotics and medications that protect the gastric mucosa; traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) may also be used as an adjunctive therapy.
