Introduction
Dandelion cannot lower blood pressure. It is a traditional Chinese herbal ingredient with no therapeutic effect on hypertension. Although dandelion is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine containing abundant protein, fat, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin B₂, choline, and organic acids, it is not effective for lowering high blood pressure, and its role in the treatment of hypertension is not significant.

Dandelion does not lower blood pressure. It is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb and generally has no therapeutic effect on hypertension.

Dandelion possesses antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, cholagogic, and diuretic properties, and can help clear heat, detoxify the body, reduce swelling, and dissipate nodules. It is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine rich in protein, fat, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin B2, choline, organic acids, and other nutrients. Brewing dandelion as a tea may enhance immune function and relieve internal “heat” (a TCM concept referring to inflammatory or hyperactive conditions), but it is not effective for lowering blood pressure and offers no significant benefit in the treatment of hypertension.

Hypertension is a chronic condition whose incidence increases markedly with age. There is currently no medication capable of completely curing hypertension; instead, long-term management under a physician’s guidance is essential. Patients typically require oral antihypertensive medications—such as amlodipine tablets or reserpine tablets—to maintain stable blood pressure. Additionally, regular blood pressure monitoring at accredited medical facilities is crucial to prevent complications such as atherosclerosis.
