Introduction
After undergoing an induced abortion, women’s bodies tend to be relatively weak, and it is essential to consume nutrient-rich foods to support recovery. A recuperation period of approximately two weeks is generally recommended; however, women with pre-existing physical weakness, poor constitution, or significant blood loss may require a longer recovery period, adjusted accordingly. During the first two weeks following the procedure, it is advisable to consume foods such as chicken, lean pork, eggs, dairy products, and soy-based foods. Spicy or otherwise stimulating foods should be avoided.

Generally, after undergoing an induced abortion, women often experience physical weakness and require dietary adjustments to support recovery—consuming nutrient-rich, restorative foods is essential. It is recommended to eat a variety of nutritious foods, along with fresh vegetables and fruits. Within the first two weeks following the procedure, prioritize foods such as chicken, lean pork, eggs, dairy products, and soy-based foods. Avoid spicy or stimulating foods—including chili peppers and alcohol. Additionally, ensure adequate iron intake to prevent post-abortion anemia.

A recuperative period of approximately two weeks is generally recommended. Women with pre-existing physical weakness, poor constitution, or significant blood loss may need to extend this recovery period accordingly. Some women may experience symptoms such as fatigue, lethargy, and insomnia; targeted dietary therapy is therefore advised. For insomnia, consuming red dates (jujubes) is beneficial; alternatively, Suan Zao Ren Tang (Sour Jujube Seed Decoction) may be used to effectively alleviate symptoms. To address fatigue, drinking pigeon soup regularly is recommended, as it helps tonify Qi and nourish the blood.
