What causes dizziness and loss of appetite?
Dizziness and loss of appetite are usually associated with indigestion, cervical spondylosis, anemia, and other conditions. It is recommended that patients seek timely medical evaluation and diagnosis at a hospital and receive appropriate treatment under a doctor's guidance.
1. Indigestion: When symptoms of indigestion occur, blood may accumulate in the stomach and spleen, leading to insufficient blood supply to the head and resulting in dizziness. This can be treated with medications such as Jianwei Xiaoshi tablets or omeprazole enteric-coated capsules. Daily diet should be light; avoid greasy, spicy, raw, or cold foods such as fatty meat, chili peppers, and ice cream. Instead, consume mainly semi-liquid or liquid foods like rice porridge and soy milk. Drink plenty of warm water, get adequate rest, and avoid staying up late.
2. Cervical Spondylosis: In patients with cervical spondylosis, the cervical spine may compress the sympathetic nerves, causing symptoms such as dizziness, dry mouth, and fatigue. These may be accompanied by decreased appetite, indigestion, bloating, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Treatment options include massage therapy, physical therapy, electrical stimulation, and mild heat therapy.
3. Anemia: If a patient experiences reduced blood volume and develops anemia, insufficient oxygen delivery due to poor blood supply can lead to dizziness and reduced appetite. Patients are advised to consume iron-rich foods such as animal organs, milk, and eggs. Foods rich in vitamin C, such as hawthorn and kiwifruit, should also be included to enhance iron absorption.
