How to treat heat rash in newborn babies
Heat rash usually refers to miliaria, a superficial inflammatory skin condition. Infantile miliaria can be improved by adjusting environmental temperature, maintaining skin cleanliness, wearing loose clothing, applying topical medications, and taking oral medications.
1. Adjust Environmental Temperature
Miliaria is closely related to high ambient temperature and poor ventilation. Therefore, once miliaria appears in newborns, the environment should be adjusted promptly, and prolonged exposure to hot, stuffy conditions should be avoided.
2. Maintain Skin Cleanliness
Regularly clean the baby's skin with cooled boiled water to prevent excessive accumulation of sweat and dust on the skin. This helps restore the skin barrier function and relieve symptoms such as itching and rashes.
3. Wear Loose Clothing
Dress the baby in loose, breathable cotton clothing to promote dissipation of excess body heat and reduce contact between clothing and skin, which can aid in faster recovery.
4. Apply Medications
Under medical guidance, properly apply medications such as calamine lotion, talcum powder, or triamcinolone acetonide/econazole cream to help suppress inflammation and prevent recurrence of miliaria.
5. Oral Medications
If necessary, antibiotics such as cefaclor granules, roxithromycin granules, or cephalexin granules may be prescribed under medical supervision to treat infection and control skin inflammation.
Miliaria in newborns should be taken seriously, and timely treatment should be initiated to avoid adverse effects on health.
