Introduction
Blisters on the lips accompanied by mild itching may be caused by physiological factors, herpes simplex, cheilitis, or other reasons. Relief can be achieved through general care or medication depending on the specific cause. Additionally, during treatment, it is important to avoid spicy and irritating foods such as chili peppers, ginger, and garlic to prevent interference with recovery.

Small itchy blisters on the lips may be caused by non-medical factors such as excessive internal heat ("shang huo"), or they could result from medical conditions such as herpes simplex, cheilitis, or mucous gland cysts.

I. Non-disease Factors

Lack of sleep and excessive mental stress can lead to blister formation on the lips accompanied by itching. Symptoms can be improved by adjusting lifestyle habits, improving daily routines, and drinking more water.

II. Disease Factors

1. Herpes Simplex

When immunity decreases due to infection with the herpes simplex virus, blisters and itching may develop on the lips. Mild cases may resolve spontaneously with adequate rest and increased fluid intake. Severe cases can be treated with oral antiviral medications such as acyclovir.

2. Cheilitis

If blisters and itching occur after consuming allergenic foods such as mango, durian, or pineapple, or due to long-term use of low-quality cosmetics or allergy to certain ingredients in lipsticks, anti-allergy medications like loratadine may be taken. Topical treatments include corticosteroid creams or tacrolimus ointment. Drinking herbal infusions made from chrysanthemum or dandelion may also help reduce internal heat.

3. Mucous Gland Cyst

Mucous gland cyst is the most common pseudotumoral lesion of the salivary glands, typically occurring on the oral mucosa and occasionally affecting the lips severely. Surgical excision is the most common treatment. Prevent infection, maintain a light diet, avoid irritants, and practice good oral hygiene.

During treatment, proper oral care is essential. Adequate rest and a bland diet are recommended. Avoid spicy and irritating foods such as chili peppers, ginger, and garlic to prevent interference with recovery.
