What to do if punctured and bleeding by a pencil
During the use of pencils, it is possible for a pencil to pierce the skin. If punctured and bleeding occurs, the pencil tip should be promptly removed, followed by proper disinfection. The specific steps are as follows:

1. First, check whether any part of the pencil tip remains in the wound. If there are broken fragments, remove them with sterilized tweezers and thoroughly rinse the wound with plenty of running water.
2. If the pencil has caused a deep wound that continues to bleed, apply pressure first to stop the bleeding. Then thoroughly disinfect the injured area by evenly swabbing with iodine tincture (iodophor) and alcohol swabs.
3. After disinfection, apply an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial ointment to the wound, then cover it with waterproof adhesive tape or bandage.
4. If the pencil punctures a sensitive or special area, seek medical attention at a hospital for appropriate professional treatment.
