How to relieve muscle soreness caused by excessive exercise
When muscle soreness occurs due to excessive physical activity, it can be relieved through adequate rest, physical therapy, and medication.
1. Rest: When muscle soreness results from overexertion, reduce the amount of exercise appropriately and focus on getting sufficient rest. Gently stretching the muscles during rest can improve flexibility. Avoid intense physical activity in the short term to help alleviate muscle soreness.
2. Physical Therapy: Apply gentle massage or warm compresses to the sore muscles. Alternatively, use infrared radiation locally to relieve muscle fatigue, improve local blood circulation, accelerate lactic acid breakdown, and gradually reduce muscle soreness.
3. Medication: If the above methods do not provide significant relief, anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medications may be used under a doctor's guidance to alleviate symptoms. Commonly used medications include diclofenac sodium tablets and ibuprofen sustained-release capsules.
It is recommended to engage in exercise progressively, gradually increasing intensity from light to vigorous. Always perform muscle stretching before exercising to prevent muscle strains during exercise and soreness afterward.
