How to wash eyes with normal saline
When using normal saline to wash the eyes, hands should be thoroughly cleaned first, and the upper and lower eyelids should be held open during irrigation.
Normal saline is prepared by mixing sodium chloride and distilled water in a specific ratio. Before using normal saline to rinse the eyes, hands must be washed properly, and the person should sit down. One hand is used to hold the upper and lower eyelids open to fully expose the eyeball, while the other hand applies the saline solution into the eye. The eyeball should be gently rotated to help remove any foreign particles.
The human eye has a natural self-cleaning ability. In the absence of eye discomfort or symptoms, routine washing is generally unnecessary. If eye inflammation or foreign body sensation occurs, medical attention should be sought promptly rather than attempting self-treatment.
