Is BI-RADS category 4C in breast imaging serious?
Breast BI-RADS category 4C is relatively serious, and patients should seek medical evaluation and treatment at a hospital as soon as possible to avoid adverse effects on their health.
The breast is a human tissue and an accessory gland of the skin. In males, breast tissue gradually regresses around one and a half years of age; although ducts are present, there are no lobules or alveoli. In females, breast tissue proliferates during puberty, and by the onset of menstruation, breast development is nearly complete. Generally, if a patient's examination results indicate BI-RADS category 4C, this suggests a relatively high probability of malignancy in the breast nodule, with the risk of cancer ranging between 50% and 94%. The condition is considered severe, and medication alone may have limited effectiveness. Timely treatment at a hospital through minimally invasive procedures such as breast endoscopic surgery or excision of breast masses is usually required.
Patients should develop healthy lifestyle habits, maintain a light and balanced diet, pay attention to dietary health, and avoid overeating; they should keep regular sleep schedules, avoid excessive fatigue, engage in moderate exercise, and refrain from strenuous physical activity.
