Introduction
Pulmonary nodules refer to lesions that appear in lung tissue. If the lesion is a hard or old, healed lesion, it is usually benign, especially when the nodule is small, and generally does not pose harm to the body. However, if the nodule is large, particularly when diagnosed as malignant, it can be harmful and may cause symptoms such as sputum production, cough, and fever. In severe cases, it may even threaten life.

Whether pulmonary nodules are harmful to the body depends on individual circumstances.

1. No harm

Pulmonary nodules typically refer to lesions within the lung tissue. If the nodules are calcified or represent old, healed lesions, they are usually benign. Especially in patients with small nodules, there is generally no significant harm to the body.

2. Harmful

If the nodule is large, or if a biopsy confirms it as a malignant lesion, it may pose certain risks to health. Patients may experience various symptoms such as sputum production, coughing, and fever. In severe cases, it could even threaten life.

For individuals with pulmonary nodules, regular follow-up examinations are recommended to monitor the progression of the lesion. Surgical removal may be considered when necessary.
