The Hazards of Condensed Milk
When consumed in normal, moderate amounts, sweetened condensed milk generally does not cause harm. However, consuming excessive amounts at once or over a prolonged period may lead to indigestion, obesity, elevated blood sugar levels, and other adverse effects.
1. Indigestion
Overconsumption can increase the burden on the gastrointestinal system, interfering with the normal digestion of food and potentially causing indigestion.
2. Obesity
Sweetened condensed milk is rich in protein, vitamins, fats, and other nutrients. Excess energy from overconsumption that the body cannot fully break down and utilize may gradually accumulate as fat, leading to obesity.
3. Elevated Blood Sugar
The high sugar content, when consumed in large quantities, can destabilize blood glucose levels and, in severe cases, may even contribute to the development of diabetes.
In addition, due to its high sweetness, long-term and excessive consumption of sweetened condensed milk may affect taste sensitivity, resulting in diminished taste perception.
