What is a Class 1 carcinogen?
Group 1 carcinogens are chemical substances with extremely high carcinogenicity in humans and pose a significant threat to human health.
These chemicals can enter the body through various routes such as inhalation, ingestion, and skin contact. Long-term exposure may lead to serious health problems including cancer and birth defects. Currently, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classifies chemical substances according to their carcinogenicity into five categories, among which Group 1 carcinogens are the most hazardous. Common Group 1 carcinogens include asbestos, benzene, and chloroprene.
Patients should develop healthy lifestyle habits in daily life and minimize exposure to carcinogens such as formaldehyde and betel nut.
