Symptoms of ginseng fruit poisoning
Ginseng fruit is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicinal herb. However, improper or excessive use may lead to poisoning symptoms such as nausea, abdominal pain, and allergic reactions, which require symptomatic treatment under medical supervision.
1. Nausea
Consuming too much ginseng fruit may trigger allergic gastroenteritis, leading to symptoms like nausea and vomiting. Under medical guidance, gastric lavage and laxatives can be used to remove toxins from the body. Additionally, oral activated charcoal tablets may be taken under a doctor’s direction to help adsorb and eliminate toxins.
2. Abdominal Pain
Ginseng fruit has relatively low toxicity. However, in individuals with poor gastrointestinal function, ingestion may irritate the gastrointestinal tract, causing abdominal pain and diarrhea. Symptoms can be alleviated under medical advice by taking medications such as norfloxacin capsules, levofloxacin capsules, or ciprofloxacin capsules.
3. Allergic Reaction
In individuals prone to allergies, consuming ginseng fruit may cause allergic reactions such as rashes or urticaria. Under medical supervision, antiallergic medications like epinephrine tablets or chlorpheniramine tablets may be taken to relieve symptoms.
Additionally, other possible symptoms include numbness in hands and feet, dry mouth, and chest tightness. If any of these symptoms occur, consumption of ginseng fruit should be stopped immediately, and medical attention should be sought promptly.
