Introduction
Pain in the ball of the foot while walking is not necessarily caused by gout; it may result from muscle strain, although factors such as calcium deficiency or gout cannot be completely ruled out. Prolonged physical activity leading to muscle strain can cause local circulatory impairment, resulting in symptoms such as soreness, redness, and swelling. Applying heat to the affected area can accelerate blood circulation and help alleviate swelling and pain.

Pain when walking on the ball of the foot is not necessarily caused by gout. It may result from muscle strain, although other factors such as calcium deficiency or gout cannot be ruled out. Specific causes are analyzed as follows:

1. Muscle strain

Prolonged physical activity may lead to muscle strain, causing local circulatory disturbances and resulting in symptoms such as localized soreness, redness, and swelling. Patients can apply heat therapy to the affected area to accelerate blood circulation and relieve swelling and pain.

2. Calcium deficiency

A lack of calcium in the body may prompt osteoclasts to release calcium from bones into the bloodstream to maintain normal blood calcium levels, leading to localized pain. Under medical guidance, patients may take medications such as calcium carbonate D3 tablets or glucose oral solution for treatment.

3. Gout

During a gout attack, inflammatory factors are released in the body, stimulating local peripheral nerves and causing joint swelling and pain. Under medical supervision, patients may use medications such as colchicine tablets or allopurinol tablets for treatment.

Besides the above common causes, pain may also be due to conditions such as hallux valgus, hypertrophic osteoarthritis, or metatarsophalangeal osteoarthritis. If symptoms fail to improve or worsen during treatment, prompt medical consultation at a hospital is recommended.
