Introduction
Surgery for axillary osmidrosis is a relatively thorough method for treating body odor, generally divided into traditional surgery and minimally invasive surgery. Minimally invasive surgery involves smaller incisions, but carries a higher risk of hematoma formation. Therefore, adequate rest after surgery is essential, and strenuous exercise should be avoided to prevent wound dehiscence. It is also important to maintain healthy lifestyle habits and avoid spicy or irritating foods, which may impair recovery.

Generally, axillary osmidrosis surgery is a relatively definitive method for treating body odor and is usually divided into traditional surgery and minimally invasive surgery. Taking minimally invasive surgery as an example, the specific procedure is as follows:

1. Shave the armpit and surrounding area to facilitate the surgical procedure.

2. Position the patient in a supine position with the upper arm extended, followed by local anesthesia.

3. Make a small vertical incision of 3–5 cm in length on the armpit.

4. Incise the skin layer by layer, including the epidermis and dermis, then cut through the superficial subcutaneous tissue to remove the sweat glands.

5. Irrigate the wound with normal saline and perform hemostasis.

6. After hemostasis, place a drainage strip under the skin and secure the skin flap at the surgical site.

7. Suture the incision and cover it with sterile dressing, then bandage the wound.

This surgery involves a relatively small wound, but hematoma formation is common. Therefore, patients should rest adequately after surgery and avoid strenuous activities to prevent wound dehiscence. Additionally, keep the armpit area dry to prevent infection and promote proper healing.
