What does it mean when the blood glucose meter displays "h1"?
Blood glucose meters displaying "h1" usually indicate that the patient's blood sugar level is too high.

Under normal circumstances, the maximum blood glucose value measurable by a glucometer is within 30 mmol/L. If "h1" appears, it means the blood glucose level has exceeded the maximum detection limit of the device, indicating severely elevated blood sugar. In such cases, patients should go to the hospital for venous blood testing to determine the exact blood glucose level, in order to prevent complications such as diabetic ketoacidosis or hyperglycemic hyperosmolar coma. Patients may follow their doctor's instructions to use medications such as acarbose capsules, gliclazide tablets, or dapagliflozin tablets to help control blood glucose levels.
A low-sugar diet is recommended. It is advised to consume foods rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients, such as eggs, lean meat, tomatoes, apples, etc., which can provide necessary energy and support overall health. Additionally, engaging in moderate physical activities such as walking, tai chi, or yoga can also contribute to better health.
