1. After emptying the bladder, the patient assumes the lithotomy position, and the external genitalia and vagina are routinely disinfected.
2. A bimanual examination is performed to confirm the size, position of the uterus, and condition of the bilateral adnexa.
3. A vaginal speculum is used to expose the cervix, and the cervical area is disinfected.
4. An oval forceps is used to rupture the amniotic sac; once the amniotic fluid has naturally drained or is suctioned out from the cervical opening using an aspirator, proceed to the next step.
5. Then, the oval forceps is inserted into the uterine cavity to locate the site of placental attachment. The placental tissue is grasped with the forceps and gently pulled downward and removed.
6. Once most of the fetal and placental tissues have been cleared, low-pressure suction is applied with a cannula to ensure complete evacuation. After confirming no abnormalities remain, the procedure is completed.
